Origin and style
Since the band did not want to write during the tour, they stopped all activities and concentrated on songwriting , which took place mainly in the English Lake District . The album was then produced by Terry Date at Angelic Studio in Banbury , Oxfordshire . The recordings took place from July to September 2012. Borrowings from electronic music and ambient can be heard on the album . Influences from post-rock were also processed according to the band. The album received a parental guidance sticker for "explicit textual content". The album title is derived from the Latin word sempiternus , which in turn is made up of semper (always) and aeternus (eternal). The album cover shows a golden flower of life on a black background.
