When Lee was six years old, her younger sister died, to whom she later dedicated two of her songs, Hello (album Fallen ) and Like You (album The Open Door ).

In Arkansas , Amy Lee first lived with her parents and three siblings in Maumelle , then in Little Rock , the capital of the US state. There she met 14-year-old Ben Moody at a summer camp at the age of 13 , with whom she formed the band Evanescence.
