style

Rocky Gray is particularly characterized by its interplay of calm and fast passages. He has mastered classic drumming as well as a technique that he has developed himself over the years. On closer inspection, this can be clearly distinguished from other drummers. He likes to combine acoustic and e-drums in his drum sets . He prefers the Japanese manufacturer Roland , to whom he is not contractually bound. Another special feature is the use of grip tape, which enables the drumsticks to be held securely even when they are played lightly. Many drummers find this annoying. With Evanescence, a melodic rock band, he stood out for his spontaneous double bass appearances, which have been his trademark ever since.
