Evancescence is the third studio album of American rock band Evanescence , which on 11 October 2011 on the label Wind-up Records was released. The album reached number one on the Billboard 200 and number five in Germany. The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz .
history
The album was announced by Amy Lee in 2009 in the forum of the band's website. After the previous album, Lee needed a break and wasn't sure if there would be a new album and if so, when. Eventually Lee decided to go back to working with the bandmates. The new album should be created more in a band collaboration. It should be published in August or September 2011. Eventually the album was announced for October 4th, but the release date was postponed by a week. In Germany, however, it appeared on October 7th.
To promote the pre-single What You Want , the band played the song live for the first time on August 8, 2011, the day before it was released.
