Maumelle is a city in Pulaski County in the US -amerikanischen State Arkansas and a north-western suburb of Little Rock . In 2000 Maumelle had 10,557 inhabitants.
The place was founded by Jess Odom due to the Urban Growth and New Community Development Act and was planned on the green field. According to estimates by the Census Bureau, the population in 2005 was 14,318.

Maumelle is located about 15 km northwest of Little Rock and about 3 km southwest of US Highway 40 and 3 km northeast of the Arkansas River . According to the United States Census Bureau , Maumelle has an area of 24.0 km², of which 22.8 km² is land and 1.2 km² (= 5.07%) is water.

Demographic data
At the time of the United States Census 2000 Maumelle lived in 10,557 people. The population density was 463.2 people per km ². There were 4294 housing units at an average of 188.4 per km ². The population consisted of 92.45% of White , 4.89% Black or African American , 0.50% Native American , 0.78% Asian , 0.01% Pacific Islander , 0.41% said other races to belong and 0.97% named two or more races. 1.77% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latinos of any race.
The residents of Maumelle were distributed to 4128 households out of which 39.4% were living in children under 18 years. 66.8% of households were married, 8.0% had a female head of the household without a husband and 23.1% did not form families. 19.8% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 6.0% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 2.94.
