Carl Oscar Troilius (born January 26, 1813 in Nora , Örebro län ; † December 11, 1899 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish general director and member of the Reichstag.

Troilius was the son of Bergsråd (Bergsråd is the deputy of the president of a mining company) Samuel Troilius (1757-1841). He studied from 1827 in Uppsala, where he passed a legal examination ( court council examination ) in 1834, a mountain examination. He then studied until 1835 at the mining school in Falun . After completing further mining training at the Bergskollegium in 1836, he carried out measurements, mappings and geological investigations for mining in the mining sites until 1841 and created work plans. In 1856 he was appointed miner of the 6th district, which he held until 1874.

In 1856 he was the initiator of the construction of Sweden's first locomotive-operated, standard-gauge railway line between Nora and Ervalla . From 1863 to 1887 he was General Director of the State Railways in Sweden, from 1887 Statens Järnvägar .

As a representative of the constituency of Örebro län , he was a member of the First Chamber of the Swedish Diet from 1867 to 1875 . From 1878 Troilius was a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and in 1877 became a member of the first class of the Royal Academy of Warfare. In addition, he was a member of the Swedish committee for participation in the world exhibitions in London in 1862, Vienna in 1873, Philadelphia in 1876 and Paris in 1878, was 1874 Kommerskollegium (state authority for foreign trade) on. Since 1850 he was married to Emilia Henrika Augusta Petré, a daughter of the Reichstag member Johan Theodor "Thore" Petre. His grave is on Södra kyrkogården in Nora.
