Ghost Walking is a song by American Metal - band Lamb of God . It was the first single from the album Resolution . The song was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance category.

The music for the song was largely written by guitarist Mark Morton , while the lyrics were co-written by Morton and singer Randy Blythe . The lyrics are about guitarist Mark Morton making wrong decisions in many situations where he should have made the right decisions. In an interview he described this quirk as a self-destructive trait of his. Morton wrote the text from the perspective of Vietnam - Veterans who with heroin is trying to deal with the experienced in operations stress. After returning to the United States, he has difficulties integrating into society.

Ghost Walking was nominated for Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance at the 2013 Grammy Awards . However, the award went to Halestorm for the song Love Bites (So Do I) . The Loudwire Music Awards 2012 was Ghost Walking in the category Best Metal Song nomination. However, the award went to the band Pantera for the song Piss .

In pop culture

The song became known to a wide audience on September 12, 2019, when Stefanie Stuber sang Ghost Walking on the casting show The Voice of Germany and received the approval of the four jurors Mark Forster , Alice Merton , Sido and Rea Garvey . Sido was the first juror to give his approval and was initially irritated to see a woman, as he initially expected masked men.

In spring 2020, Lamb of God launched the craft beer Ghost Walker in collaboration with the Scottish brewery BrewDog . Named after the song Ghost Walking , it is the world's first non-alcoholic beer to be brought out by a brewery in collaboration with a band.
