Rock on the Range has been an annual rock and metal festival since 2007, held at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus , Ohio . From 2019 the festival will be replaced by the Sonic Temple Art and Music Festival .

The first edition of the festival in 2007 took place in one day. Between 2008 and 2010, Rock on the Range was held for two days and since 2011 it has been a three-day music festival. 35,000 visitors were already counted in the first year. In 2013 there were 105,000 and a year later even 120,000 paying festival-goers.

Between 2009 and 2011, an offshoot of the music festival took place at Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg , Manitoba . The stadium was closed in 2012 and has since been demolished.
