King 810 ( spelling KING 810 ) is a metal band from Flint , Michigan .

history

King 810 consists of singer David Gunn, guitarist Andrew Beal, bassist Eugene Gill, and drummer Andrew Workman, all of whom are from Flint , Michigan . The musicians had to deal with difficult situations from an early age. Experiences with criminal offenses within the city are taken up lyrically by the musicians. In particular, an armed attack on singer David Gunn, in which he was shot and seriously injured, was already taken up in their songs.

This near-death experience sparked a new perspective among the musicians, which was already noticeable on the EP Midwest Monsters , which was released in 2012 . A performance by the group at Rock on the Range in Columbus , Ohio , in which six men with dummy assault rifles flanked the band was controversial . The group had to cancel a gig at the Download Festival in June 2014 because two musicians of the band were arrested at the airport in Detroit . The reason given was that the two musicians were involved in a fight.

In May 2014 the second EP proem was released via Roadrunner Records . On August 15, 2014, the debut album Memoirs of a Murderer followed on Roadrunner Records. A tour of Germany announced for October 2014 had to be partially postponed or canceled. The group only plays concerts in Cologne and Berlin , while appearances in Schweinfurt , Munich and Hamburg have been completely canceled. The group supported Korn and Slipknot in the United States , Canada and Europe between October 29, 2014 and December 7, 2014 .
