Crobot is an American hard rock band from Pottsville , Pennsylvania . The band was founded in 2011 and is under contract with Nuclear Blast and Wind-Up Records . Crobot have released three studio albums so far.

history

The band was formed in the summer of 2011 by singer Brandon Yeagley and guitarist Chris Bishop. Both were previously active in another band and wanted to continue making music together. A year later, the band released their own debut album The Legend of the Spaceborne Killer and shot a music video for the theme song . At the end of 2012, the then bassist and drummer left the band and were replaced by the brothers Jake and Paul Figueroa. Both previously played in the band Thick Leather Brick. In December 2013, Crobot were signed by Wind-Up Records.

After signing the contract, the band toured almost non-stop and played in the opening act for bands like Clutch , The Sword , Kyng , the Truckfighters and Kill Devil Hill . In May 2014 the self-titled EP with four songs was released. A month later, Crobot signed a deal for Europe with the record label Nuclear Blast . The band then recorded their second studio album Something Supernatural together with producer Machine , which was released in October 2014. For the song Nowhere to Hide a was music video rotated.

A North American tour is planned for the spring of 2015 in the opening act for Volbeat and Anthrax .

style

Crobot play riff-oriented hard rock of the 1970s. Furthermore, the band was influenced by classic rock , blues and funk . Singer Brandon Yeagley named the bands Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine as well as the grunge style as important influences. The band calls their style dirty grooverock . Guitarist Chris Bishop described the band as a meeting of the bands Clutch and Funkadelic with a little thrown in Doom Metal .
