Something Supernatural is the second studio album by the American hard rock band Crobot . It was released on October 24, 2014 via Nuclear Blast .

Emergence

The album was created through joint jam sessions in a shed behind the house of singer Brandon Yeagley. Most of the riffs came from guitarist Chris Bishop. The album was recorded at Machine Shop Studios in Austin , Texas . Was produced Something Supernatural from producer Machine, previously with bands like Lamb of God has worked. For the song Nowhere to Hide a was music video rotated.

The Nowhere to Hide tells the story of a convict who breaks out of prison and escapes. In the music video, the story is portrayed by a group of redneck hunting aliens . The aliens in turn chase a group of zombies . La Mana de Lucifer and Night of the Sacrifice are about the devil . The song Skull of Geronimo is about an alleged admission ritual of the fraternity Skull & Bones . To be included in the connection you have to kiss the skull of the Apache chief Geronimo . Some songs deal with the culture and mythology of Native Americans . Singer Brandon Yeagley named The Necromancer , Fly on the Wall and Cloud Spiller as examples .

reception

Thomas Kupfer from the German magazine Rock Hard wrote that Crobot is “fresh and fresh, straight to the heart of the retro rock brotherhood”. Kupfer rated the album eight out of ten points. Reviewer Michael from the online magazine whiskey-soda.de complained that some songs were "simply too similar and too interchangeable", but described the songs Legend of the Spaceborn Killer and La Mano de Lucifer as "hammer songs ".
