Truckfighters is a Swedish stoner rock band from Örebro that was formed in 2001.
history
The band was founded in 2001 by guitarist Niklas "Dango" Källgren and bassist and singer Oskar "Ozo" Cedermalm. In the years that followed, the line-up around the two of them changed several times, before a permanent line-up was formed in 2007 after the addition of drummer Andre “Poncho” Kvarnström. In 2001 the two former sound engineers recorded their first EP, which included six songs. In 2003 the group was heard on a split release with Firestone and in 2004 on the compilation The Ultimate Fuzz Collection - Vol One with the song Analogous . Together with Firestone, the band played concerts in Finland in April 2004 and then held other concerts in Italy with El Thule in October , before another split release with Square followed in December . The first album Gravity X followed in 2005 . The release was followed by appearances with El Thule in April, before the band went on tour in Germany in December . In April 2006 Truckfighters went on another tour of Finland before concerts in Great Britain followed in May . After further performances in Europe , the band went to the Bombshelter Studios in July to record a new album. A tour of Europe with Mannhai followed in October . The second album Phi was released in 2007, before the third album followed in 2009 under the name Mania . The filmmakers Jörg Steineck and Christian Macijweski also recorded the band documentary Truckfighters , which was released in December 2011. The following year the band worked on their next album, which was released in 2014 under the name Universe . The album reached number 92 in the German album charts. In March 2012 the group performed in the USA . At the beginning of 2013 she went on a European tour together with Kvelertak , at the beginning of 2015 she went on a European "Rock Revelation Tour" a. a. with the Blues Pills and Jex Thoth . In May 2016 the band's first live album was released as a record including CD , which was recorded on November 14, 2014 at the o2 Academy in London .
On September 30, 2016, the band released their album "V" on record, CD and download.
style
According to laut.de, the group plays doomy stoner rock, which has been influenced by bands like Kyuss , Queens of the Stone Age , Soundgarden and Tool . According to Eduardo Rivadavia from Allmusic , the band's music is reminiscent of the works of Dozer , Kyuss and Fu Manchu .
