Saving Abel is an American rock band formed in Corinth , Mississippi in 2004.
The band plays hard rock with influences from post-grunge and southern rock . Jason zero, one of the founders of the band said that the band's name on a passage from the story of Cain and Abel of the Old Testament was ajar, he had googled. The passage "... there was no saving Abel" immediately caught his eye.
history
The band was founded in 2004 by Jason Null and Jared Weeks in Corinth / Mississippi. Weeks was practicing playing the guitar with a friend when Zero wanted to rehearse in a local band there. Together they started writing songs.
In early 2005, the band was invited by Skidd Mills to Memphis to produce an EP in his studio. Due to the success of the CD, the Virgin Records label became aware of the band and signed them in 2008.
Shortly thereafter, Eric Taylor, Scott Bartlett and Blake Dixon joined the band. The band distributed their demos at concerts of well-known local bands to promote their own cause. In 2006 the band produced an album under their own small label. By chance, a copy of their single Addicted came to Mark Hunter, an employee of the Virgin label, and asked the band to send a copy to the label. CEO Jason Flom sent Kim Stephens to Jackson to get an idea of the band. On March 11th, the band released their first album on Virgin Records. By February 2009 the album had sold over 380,000 times.
In early 2009, the band gave concerts with Papa Roach , Nickelback and Hinder thanks to Live Nation . On April 7th, 2009 their EP 18 Days Tour was released . The band gave their first tour as headliners with Red , Pop Evil and Taddy Porter as support acts.
In 2008 the band's first album was released, called Saving Abel . It immediately reached 49th place in the US charts and the gold record .
The EP 18 Days Tour followed a year later . In 2010 the album Miss America was released . Her previously released singles have also made it to the USA successfully. Shortly after its release, their single Addicted reached the 20th place in the US singles chart, 44th place in the Canadian charts and 19th place in the Australian charts, as well as platinum status.
