Red is a Christian rock / nu-metal band founded in 2002 in Nashville ( Tennessee , USA) .
Her debut album, End of Silence was awarded in 2007 at the 49th Grammy Awards nominated for a Grammy in the category Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album .
history
In 2004 Red began playing contemporary covers of Christian songs to appeal to youngsters. The band name Red came about because vocalist Mike Barnes saw it in comparison to the blood of Christ and what it represents: inclination, pain and redemption.
After the contract with Sony BMG's Christian label Essential Records was signed in 2006 , the first album End of Silence was released, which was released in the USA on June 13, 2006. The album was produced by grammar-nominated songwriter and music producer Rob Graves. The first song Breathe into Me made it to number 10 on the US mainstream rock charts, and the band won the award for the best rock song of the year at the GMA Dove Awards .
In the fall of 2006, Red finally began a tour of the USA with the bands Kutless and Disciple . In February 2007 they toured again with Three Days Grace , Breaking Benjamin and Flyleaf / Puddle of Mudd . The band also performed at Acquire The Fire , a Christian youth conference.
Her second album Innocence and Instinct was released on February 10, 2009 in the USA. The third album entitled Until We Have Faces was released on February 1, 2011 and landed at number 2 on the US bilboards. The album release The Panic was released on February 5, 2013, followed by the album Of Beauty and Rage on March 14, 2015 . The sixth album Gone was released on October 27, 2017 and contains a cover by the Australian artist Sia ("Unstoppable"). Declaration , the seventh album, was released on April 3, 2020.
style
In a report in the All Music Guide of the End of Silence album , Red's style of music was described as "furiously passionate music" influenced by similar bands such as Linkin Park and Chevelle .
