Chevelle is an American band from Grayslake, Illinois , a city about 60 km north of Chicago . It was founded in 1995 by three brothers Pete, Sam and Joe Loeffler.
Band history
The group released their debut album in 1999 on the Christian label Squint Entertainment . The work was produced by Steve Albini . The major label Epic Records became aware of the band; there the following three albums appeared.
Chevelle became known with the single The Red from the album Wonder What's Next (2002), which was on rotation for over 26 weeks on US radio stations and reached number 56 in the American single charts. Was produced Wonder What's Next of GGGarth ( Rage Against the Machine , Mudvayne , Sick of It All , etc.), mixed by Andy Wallace ( Nirvana , System of a Down , Linkin Park , Bad Religion etc.). The third album This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In) made it into the top 10 on the Billboard 200 .
Bassist Joe Loeffler was kicked out of the band in 2005 and replaced by a brother-in-law of the Loeffler brothers, Dean Bernardini. In this line-up, Vena Sera was recorded, which placed in the top 20 of the American album charts.
