Grammy Awards 2007

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On February 11, 2007, the 2007 Grammy Awards were presented at the Staples Center in Los Angeles . For the 49th time, the most important US music prize was awarded to the best artists of the past music year according to the jury. This time, the achievements between October 1, 2005 and September 30, 2006 were recognized.

The categories have been renamed and shifted slightly, but as in the previous year, 108 Grammys will be awarded again, spread over 32 fields.

Musical interludes from Beyoncé , Christina Aguilera , The Police , Dixie Chicks , Gnarls Barkley and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others .

The big winners of the evening were the Dixie Chicks , who had fallen out of favor not so long before because of their open criticism of the US Iraq war and who were rehabilitated with five Grammys and five nominations, three of them in main categories.

The remaining main category went to Carrie Underwood as the best newcomer, she came with two more country Grammys to three trophies, as well as Mary J. Blige in the R&B area, but after eight nominations, she fell short of expectations. The stars of rock music were once again the Red Hot Chili Peppers .
