Grammy Award for Record of the Year
The Grammy Award for Record of the Year (dt. Grammy Award for Record of the Year ) is a music price in the annual since 1959 Grammy Awards will be awarded. This award is given to performers, producers and sound engineers alike who have made a recording of a single or an album track of particularly high quality in the previous year.
Background and story
The Grammy Awards (actually Grammophone Awards) have been presented annually since 1959 for artistic achievement, technical competence and overall musical achievement in various categories by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), regardless of the number of sales of the work.
The Grammy Award for Admission of the Year has been an integral part of the award ceremony since the first Grammy was awarded in 1959. In addition to the prizes for the best album , the best song and the best newcomer, it is one of the four most important awards presented. Up to and including 1965, the prize was awarded only to the respective interpreter, between 1966 and 1998 to the interpreters and producers, and since 1999 also to the sound engineer concerned.
This category is not to be confused with the Grammy Award for Song of the Year . While the songwriting quality is in the foreground at the award ceremony for the song of the year , the single of the year places emphasis on the quality of the recording. In addition, only the composer receives an award in the Song of the Year category , while the Single of the Year category also honors the producer and sound engineer.
