Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording

The Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording (German: "Grammy Award for the best dance recording") is a music prize awarded annually since 1998 at the Grammy Awards . It honors high-quality works from dance music.

Background and story

The Grammy Awards (actually Grammophone Awards), which have been presented since 1958, are presented annually in numerous categories by the Recording Academy in the United States of America to honor artistic achievement, technical competence and outstanding overall performance regardless of album sales or chart position .

This award was first given in 1998 as the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording to Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder , for their title Carry On . In 2003, the Grammy Award for Best Electronic / Dance Album category was created for the best dance albums. Solo artists, duos, groups, collaboration between several artists ( vocals or instrumental ) and only songs can be nominated for the category.

The most recognized artists are Justin Timberlake and Skrillex , who have each received two awards. So far, most of the awardees have been US-Americans , other awardees have come from Great Britain , Australia , the Bahamas , France and Italy . Madonna holds the record for most nominations, with five. Gloria Estefan , who has been nominated three times, is the artist with the most nominations without distinction.
