Disclosure is a British UK garage duo from Surrey consisting of the brothers Guy (born May 25, 1991 in Reigate , United Kingdom ) and Howard Lawrence (born May 11, 1994 in Reigate, United Kingdom).

The parents of the two brothers played in bands themselves, and so they heard and played music from an early age. Later they got interested in dubstep music. Guy and his three years younger brother Howard started producing their own music on their home computer in 2009. Offline Dexterity was their first single in 2010. They quickly achieved success in London clubs and were hired as opening act for SBTRKT . Their first big success was the song Latch in 2012 with the soul singer Sam Smith , with which they made it into the top 40 in England. Her first studio album, Settle , was released in June 2013 and reached number 1 on the UK album charts. Her musical style features many elements from the different UK garage subcultures. In addition, many elements found drum and bass , jungle and dancehall -music similar baselines, cooperation with 2Step - and Speed Garage -Sängerinnen and synkopierende beat structures connected with the ease of House -music. Their style is characterized by differentiated voice guidance and z. Sometimes complex, recurring harmony structures borrowed from jazz.
