SBTRKT (pronounced Subtract ) is the pseudonym of the London musician Aaron Jerome . His music is often classified as a dubstep genre , but Jerome sees his music more as a mix of different genres.

Life and career

Jerome first appeared as a DJ in East London's Plastic People club . From 2009 his first publications appeared under the pseudonym SBTRKT .

He became known to a larger audience in 2011 with the release of his self-titled debut album and the singles Wildfire and Hold On that were released from it.

To protect his privacy, Jerome wears masks that are based on traditional African masks during his appearances. During his performances he is often supported by the musician Sampha on the keyboard and as a singer.
