Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album
The Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album , in German "Grammy Award for the best album with music with regional roots", is a music prize that has been awarded at the annual Grammy Awards since 2012 . The award goes to artists from the field of traditional music such as Zydeco and Cajun music or traditional Hawaiian and Native American music. The price is limited to albums.
For the Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album, the Grammys awarded until 2011 for Best Hawaiian Music Album , Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album and Best Native American Music Album were merged, as the NARAS significantly reduce the number of categories and, in some cases, the separation of vocals - and wanted to abolish instrumental performances in the categories. Music styles that have not previously been recorded in the original categories are also taken into account in the new category, including the interpreters of the polka of the Grammy Award for Best Polka Album, which has not been awarded since 2009 .
