Grammy Award for Best Classical Compendium
The Grammy Award for Best Classical Compendium (in German about "Grammy Award for the best classical collecting program") is a music prize that has been awarded at the annual Grammy Awards since 2013 . Performances from the field of classical music are awarded .
Background and story
The Grammy Awards (actually Grammophone Awards), which have been presented since 1958, are presented annually in numerous categories by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) in the United States of America for artistic achievement, technical competence and excellent overall performance regardless of the album - Honor sales or chart position.
The Grammy Award for Best Classical Compendium is one of the three Grammys that were awarded for the first time in 2013. The award is given to collections of classical music that contain a minimum of 51% newly recorded vocal and instrumental material from various soloists and / or ensembles that represent a mixture of classical subgenre. These works should not fall into other price categories for classical music.
The award is given to the performers, producers, and technicians who award more than 51% of the material.
