Hannu Lintu

Hannu Lintu (born October 13, 1967 in Rauma , Finland ) is a Finnish conductor .

Lintu first studied piano and cello at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. He was trained as a conductor with Atso Almila, Eri Klas , Jorma Panula and Myung-Whun Chung .

Since August 2013 he has been chief conductor of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Before that he held leading positions in Tampere , the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and Turku . Lintu has conducted orchestras around the world, including the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin , the Cleveland Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestras of Sydney and Melbourne . He has made numerous recordings for labels such as Ondine, Hyperion and Alba.
