Grammy Award for Best American Roots Song
The Grammy Award for Best American Roots Song , in German "Grammy Award for the best American Roots Song", is a music prize that has been presented at the annual Grammy Awards since 2014 . The award goes to artists for albums from the area of American roots music , which includes the areas of Americana , bluegrass , blues , folk and music based on regional musical roots.
The Grammy Award for Best American Roots Song was set up in 2014 because other music genres also have a corresponding category for songs in which the focus is not on the performers but on the composers and songwriters. So far, the prize has only been awarded to American artists.
