This award was first given to Basement Jaxx in 2005 as Best Electronic / Dance Album for their album Kish Kash . In 2012 the award was renamed to Best Dance / Electronica Album after a reorganization of the categories , from 2015 it is called Best Dance / Electronic Album . Albums can be nominated for the category whose playing time consists of at least 51% new vocal or instrumental pieces from the music genres dance and electronica . Compilations or remix albums cannot be nominated.
