Mura Masa

Mura Masa (born April 5, 1996 in Castel, Guernsey ; real name Alex Crossan ) is a British music producer and songwriter in the field of electronic dance music . He is under contract with the independent label Anchor Point Records . Distribution accepts Polydor Records and Interscope Records .

life and career

Crossan was born on the Channel Island of Guernsey and spent his childhood there. He started producing electronic songs at the age of 15. Later some of his songs became known to a wider public on BBC Radio 1 .

In the BBC forecast Sound of 2016 , which determines the most promising new musicians at the beginning of each year, he was voted fifth. In the same year he had his first major commercial success with the song Love $ ick , which was produced in cooperation with the rapper A $ AP Rocky . The beat was previously produced as Lovesick Fuck . It reached number 14 on the Australian music charts and received platinum status in Australia and New Zealand.

Crossan also co-wrote and produced Seven Months , a song by British singer Låpsley , and rapper Stormzy's song First Things First . His Soundcloud account already has more than 130,000 followers.
