Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds is the number one Grammy Award winner to date for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical

The Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical , in German " Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical Music", is a music prize that has been awarded by the American Recording Academy since 1975 .

History and background

Since 1959, the Grammy Awards are presented annually in numerous categories by the Recording Academy in the United States to recognize artistic achievement, technical competence, and overall outstanding performance regardless of album sales or chart position.

One of these categories is the Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical. The award was first presented at the 1975 Grammy Awards . According to the 52nd Grammy Awards Handbook, the award is given to producers who consistently deliver outstanding creativity in the field of record production.

The most frequent winner of the award so far is - with four wins - Babyface . So far, David Foster , Quincy Jones and Pharrell Williams have received three awards (two awards as a solo artist and one as a member of The Neptunes band). With eleven nominations, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have been nominated the most frequently to date, followed by David Foster and Quincy Jones with seven nominations.
