Paul Epworth

Paul Epworth (born July 25, 1974 in London ) is a British music producer, musician and songwriter. From 2002 to 2004 Paul was the singer and guitarist of the band Lomax .

Life

Epworth is known for his remix work under the name Phones . He began to gain attention with his work on the bloc party song Banquet . He has since provided remix work for New Order , U2 , Sean Combs , Goldfrapp , Simian Mobile Disco , The Streets , Tom Vek , Death from Above 1979 , Annie and Nine Inch Nails .

In early 2006, Paul Epworth began producing music under a different pseudonym, Epic Man . His debut single More Is Enough , which he recorded with Plan B , was provided on the soundtrack for Need for Speed: ProStreet and was later released on Epworth's record label Good & Evil Records, a subsidiary of 679 Recordings. Since then it has been called Phones again .

During 2004-2005, Epworth produced a number of critically acclaimed releases, including Silent Alarm by Bloc Party and A Certain Trigger by Maxïmo Park , both of which were nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. He produced the debut album Made of Bricks by Kate Nash and wrote the single Foundations with. For this he was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award. He produced and wrote songs with and for Florence + the Machines debut album Lungs , including the single Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) along with the album songs Howl , Cosmic Love , Hurricane Drunk and Blinding . In February 2010, Epworth won a BRIT Award / Music Producer's Guild Award for "Producer of the Year". He produced and wrote the songs Rolling in the Deep (from their album 21 ) and Skyfall with Adele . The latter was the theme song of the movie James Bond 007: Skyfall . He was awarded both an Oscar and a Grammy Award for best film song.

He has worked for Adele , Cee-Lo Green , Florence + the Machine , Paul McCartney , Plan B , Friendly Fires , Bloc Party , Primal Scream , The Rapture , Jack Peñate , Kate Nash and Maxïmo Park .
