A certain trigger ( dt approximately. A certain stimulus ) is the debut of from Newcastle derived band Maxïmo Park . It climbed to number 15 in the UK album charts. The album received a lot of positive reviews and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in August 2005. It has now achieved platinum status in the UK.

The name of the album is derived from a line in the song Once, a Glimpse .
