Silent Alarm is the debut album by the band Bloc Party . It was released by Wichita Recordings in the spring of 2005 . With Silent Alarm Remixed , a remix album for the album was released that same year .

As singles were "Helicopter" , "So Here We Are / Positive Tension" , "Banquet" and "Pioneers" decoupled; The first single "Helicopter" had already appeared on the EP "Little Thoughts" (2004).
reception
The album received excellent reviews. Plattentests.de awards nine out of ten points and describes it as a “constant journey of discovery” . Allmusic and laut.de awarded four out of five points for the album. At Pitchfork Media it received 8.9 out of 10 points.

The song Banquet was featured in the EA game SSX on Tour , This Modern Love in episode 22 of Season 1 of How I Met Your Mother , Helicopter in FIFA 2006 and Colin McRae: Dirt 2, Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure , Guitar Hero III and Burnout Revenge and the comedy The Yes Sayer used.

The album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and the Shortlist Music Prize in 2005, but without winning either.
