RedOne (born April 9, 1972 ; real name Nadir Khayat ) is a Moroccan - Swedish music producer who gained fame primarily through his collaboration with Lady Gaga . In his productions he mixes elements of pop music and house .

Career

RedOne grew up as the youngest of nine children in a Moroccan family. As a big fan of the Swedish hard rock group Europe , he traveled to Sweden at the age of 19 , where he entered the music industry through singer Joey Tempest and worked with the A * teens , among others . The song Step Up sung by Darin reached number 1 on the Swedish charts in 2005. RedOne received a Grammi and a Scandinavian Song of the Year award for the song . Impressed by his music, he was named by FIFA as the main producer and songwriter for the official music program for the 2006 World Cup . Before the finale, a mashup of his song Bamboo with the song Hips Don't Lie by Shakira and Wyclef Jean was sung as the “official melody” of the event. The following year, he produced the debut album 9 Lives by Kat DeLuna .

In 2008 RedOne had its commercial breakthrough. He produced seven songs on The Block by New Kids on the Block , which reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 , and six songs on Lady Gaga's album The Fame , which reached number 1 in several countries. The two singles Just Dance and Poker Face were able to place first place in the Billboard Hot 100 , Just Dance was also nominated for a Grammy in 2009. He also began to work with Akon on Michael Jackson's next album .

In most of the songs produced by RedOne, the performers sing his name at the beginning.

RedOne currently lives in Los Angeles . Together with Akon, he is the owner of the record label RedOneKonvict .
