Mohombi (Melodifestivalen 2019)

Mohombi (actually Mohombi Moupondo ; born October 17, 1986 in Kinshasa , Democratic Republic of the Congo ) is a Swedish - Congolese pop singer who speaks English , French , Lingála and Swedish .

Career

Moupondo studied at the FUSIA cabaret school in Stockholm and made his stage debut in Wild Side Story . He began his musical career as a member of the boy band Avalon, with whom he took part in the Swedish National Song Festival.

In July 2010 he released his debut single under the title Bumpy Ride , for the production of which the Moroccan music producer RedOne was responsible. The song became a top 10 hit from Northern Europe to France.

In England, the single Miss Me was released in November , with Mohombi receiving support from the American rapper Nelly .

In 2019 he took part in the Melodifestivalen , the Swedish ESC preliminary decision, with his song Hello . He finished fifth in the final.
