Wisin (2008)

Wisin (* 19th December 1978 in Cayey , Puerto Rico ; bourgeois Juan Luis Morera Luna ) is a Puerto Rican reggaeton - musicians . He became known as part of the Wisin & Yandel duo .

Career

Wisin grew up in Cayey and worked in a fast food - restaurant . His hairdresser was Yandel , and they both knew each other from school, whereupon the two became friends. The two began releasing music together and have been known as Wisin & Yandel ever since . Meanwhile, his debut album El sobreviviente was released in 2004 , which reached number 20 on the US Latin album charts. Further solo albums did not appear for the time being, as the duo career was prioritized. After the duo temporarily split in 2013 to advance their solo careers, Wisin released two solo studio albums in 2014 and 2015. The first, El regreso del sobreviviente , even reached number 50 on the Billboard 200 .

Wisin's solo career is particularly successful in Latin America and Spain . In 2016 he made a guest contribution to the song Duele el corazón by Enrique Iglesias , which reached top positions in the charts worldwide and received several gold and platinum records . For this song, they were nominated for a Latin Grammy in the categories Song of the Year and Record of the Year in 2016 .

Private

Wisin married Yomaira Ortiz Feliciano in 2008 and they have two children (* 2007 and 2009). Their third child was born in August 2016, but suffered from trisomy 13 and died a month later.
