Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (* 10. March 1994 in San Juan ), known by his stage name Bad Bunny is one of Puerto Rico derived Latin trap - and Reggaeton - singer .

life and career

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio was born on March 10, 1994 in San Juan , Puerto Rico . Since he was five years old, he had dreamed of becoming a singer. He later studied audiovisual communication at the University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo and also worked as a packer in a supermarket . He also publishes his first musical recordings on the SoundCloud website . His breakthrough came with the single "Soy Peor" and he was discovered by DJ Luian, reached other artists in the scene and became a pioneer in the Latin American trap scene.

In the summer of 2017 Bad Bunny signed a record deal with the Cardenas Marketing Network (CMD) and had several appearances in Latin American countries. From November 2017, Bad Bunny will host Beats 1's first Spanish-language show , Trap Kingz . With the song "I Like It", which he co-produced with Cardi B , he landed at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

On July 21, 2018 Bad Bunny had a five-minute performance at the Tomorrowland Festival in Belgium as part of the set presented by DJ Alesso , which invited him to perform.

He has received several top ten entries in the Hot Latin Songs chart and has worked with many well-known musicians. He has been subscribed to over twelve million times on YouTube and is currently the 7th most-streamed artist on Spotify this month and the 15th most-streamed artist overall.
