Carlos Vives
Carlos Vives (born August 7, 1961 in Santa Marta ) is a Colombian singer and actor.
Live and act
Vives has been a star in his home country since the mid-1980s. At that time he began to play in various bands and also worked as an actor in Latin American soap operas, the telenovelas . But his great passion is to write songs to be on stage. His music is a mixture of traditional Colombian accordion sounds ( Vallenato ) with rock and pop elements. A master of the traditional accordion, Egidio Cuadrado, plays in his band .
For his album Déjame entrar , Carlos Vives was awarded a Grammy in the category "Best Traditional Latin Album" in 2002, after winning two Grammy nominations in 1999 and 2000 for the album El amor de mi tierra . The album Corazón profundo received another nomination in 2014 . His successor, Más corazón profundo , brought him his second Grammy trophy in the Tropical Latin category .
