Jowell y Randy are a Puerto Rican reggaetón duo consisting of Joel A. Muñoz Martínez and Randy Acevedo Ortíz.

Band history

Starting times

Before their time together, both were able to gain experience in reggaeton and took part in various album productions. Jowell recorded his first song entitled Los Fugitivos in 1996. Randy had his first recordings two years later for a CD for In the House magazine with several other artists. The two musicians got to know each other in 2000 through a joint producer who then brought them together. In 2002 they recorded their first single, Todavía recuerdo . Since this single was well received by a radio station, it was decided to continue working together.

Joint music career

Jowell and Randy caused a stir in the US when they recorded their fourth single, No voy a parar . They later took part in the CD Chosen Few II: El Documental and promoted the CD in 45 cities beyond the United States. Since then they have also been involved in various productions by other reggaetón artists.

In 2007 they founded the group Casa de Leones together with Guelo Star, J-King and Maximan . The group's debut album was released on June 26, 2007 and is entitled Los Leones . It reached number 3 on the US Latin Albums Chart and number 126 on the Billboard 200 . It also contains the hit No te veo , which reached number 4 on the Latin charts.

The first studio album by Jowell and Randy as a duo, Los mas sueltos del reggaetón , was released on December 18, 2007, but only reached number 42 on the Latin albums.
