Willingshain is a district of the municipality of Kirchheim in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in East Hesse .
Geographical location
The place is located on the Eisenberg northwest of Kirchheim and is surrounded by forest. Not far from Willingshain is the sacrificial stone natural monument .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1366 as "Wylandishayn". Later the place name changed to "Willantshain" and then to today's Willingshain. The village is part of the parish of Frielingen . The evangelical hall church was built in 1722, the baking house in the middle of the village in 1886.
On August 1, 1972, Willigshain was incorporated into the municipality of Kirchheim as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
Population development
Before the Thirty Years War there were 18 men in the village, in 1673 there were 8 men. In 1747 there were 18 households.
