Gersdorf is a part of the municipality of Kirchheim in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in East Hesse .

Geographical location

The place is located at the assembly hall about 4 km northwest of the core town of Kirchheim. The federal highway 454 , which connects Kirchheim with Oberaula and Schwalmstadt , runs through Gersdorf .

history

In the 12th century the village was called Geroldisdorf . The nobles of Gersdorf lived there. Later the place was called Geroldsdorf , then Gerhartzdorf and from 1610 Gerßdorf . The village belonged to the Niederaula office .

As part of the regional reform in Hesse , Gersdorf was incorporated into the Kirchheim community on August 1, 1972.
