The auditorium is a 22.6 km long tributary of the Fulda in the Schwalm-Eder district and Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in Hesse ( Germany ).

geography

The small river arises about 2 km northwest of Oberaula in the Knüll Mountains through the confluence of the Sälzerbach (source Sälzerborn) with the Hollenbach at 372 m above sea level. NN. The Hollenbach rises on the Hohenbaum mountain (563 m above sea level) at 483 m above sea level. NN and covers 1.6 km to the union with the Sälzerbach. The latter is 1.3 km long and rises on Lottersberg (463 m above sea level) at 442 m above sea level. NN.

The auditorium first flows in an easterly direction, only to turn to the southeast after a short distance. It flows through the Oberaula , where the Osterbach flows to the left. After the upper auditorium, the auditorium turns in a sharp bend to the east. The Häuserbach flows into the bend on the right.

On its way to the east, the Aula Wahlshausen flows through , takes up the Berschbach on the left and flows south past Gersdorf , Frielingen and Heddersdorf . Here it picks up the Kisselbach flowing in from the north and turns its course back south. It flows through Kirchheim and shortly after the city takes on the Ibra flowing towards the right .

In the further course it crosses under the A7 and reaches the municipality of Niederaula . There the river flows east past the Kleba district and shortly before the core town of Niederaula takes on the Hattenbach flowing in from the west on the right. After Kleba, the Aula viaduct on the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg spans the Aula.

Then it flows west past Niederaula to at 206 m above sea level. NN to flow into the Fulda . On its 20 km long route, the auditorium has overcome a height difference of 166 m.

Tributaries

In the following, the tributaries of the auditorium are listed from their formation (372 m above sea level) to their confluence (216 m above sea level) with the Fulda. (For a better overview or for sorting downstream, hyphens are inserted in the DGKZ numbers after the 4256 - auditorium !) :

Natural spaces

The middle section forms the auditorium nature spatially about the boundary between the crumpled (main unit 356) to the north and the south subsequent Fulda Haune-plateau (355). Within the last-mentioned main unit, the lower reaches from around Heddersdorf separates the Ottrauer Bergland (355.0; right, i.e. first south, then west) from the Kirchheimer Bergland (355.4, left).

The tributaries of the auditorium arise z. Partly on the slopes of the most prominent mountains of the Knüll and its southern foothills:

  • The Kisselbach rises on the southern slope of the 581.2 m high toad dome .
  • The Ibra rises on the northeast slope of the 592 m high Rimberg , a striking southern branch of the volcanic activity of the Knüll in the Ottrauer Bergland, which, if it were included in the Knüll, would still be the third highest independent mountain there.
  • The Osterbach rises on the northern slope of the 492 m high Nöll in the southern Hochknüll.
  • The Häuserbach and its tributaries arise from the northeast slope of the 533 m high Kalkberg es, the southernmost mountain of the Knüll, which "connects" the Hochknüll with the Rimberg.
