Nellee Hooper

Paul Andrew "Nellee" Hooper (born March 1963 in Bristol ) is a British music producer .

Life

Hooper started his career as a DJ in the Bristol artist group "Wild Bunch", which also includes Massive Attack . Between 1989 and 1992 he produced the debut albums of Soul II Soul , Massive Attack and Björk (" Debut "). In 1995 he won the Brit Award in the "Best Producer" category for his work on the albums "Protection" by Massive Attack, "Post" by Björk and " Bedtime Stories " by Madonna . In 1996 he produced the award-winning soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann's " William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet ". In 2003 he was nominated for a Grammy for the no-doubt album "Rock Steady" . In 2004 he produced the album "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" for U2 , for which he won a Grammy.

He is also active as a remixer , among others for Garbage , Janet Jackson , Sade .

From 1992 to 1994 Hooper dated the British model Kadamba Simmons , later with the German model Daniela Michalski . From 1999 to 2000 he had a relationship with the actress Davinia Taylor , and a year later with the Australian model Erica Baxter . From 2001 to 2004 he was in a relationship with the artist Olympia Scarry.
