The Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album , in German "Grammy Award for the best jazz instrumental album", is a music prize that has been presented at the annual Grammy Awards since 2012 . The award goes to artists for new outstanding albums in the field of jazz .

The Grammy Award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album was first presented on February 12, 2012. It was merged from the Grammies awarded until 2011 for Best Instrumental Jazz Album, Individual or Group , Best Contemporary Jazz Album and the Best Latin Jazz Album .

The American jazz trio Corea , Clarke & White , which emerged from the formation Return to Forever , won the first Grammy in this category .
