Background and story

The US-American director Mark Romanek received the award with three prizes the most

The Grammy Awards (actually Grammophone Awards), which have been presented since 1958, are presented annually in numerous categories by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) in the United States of America for artistic achievement, technical competence and excellent overall performance regardless of the album - Honor sales or chart position.

The Grammy Award for Best Music Video was introduced in 1984 as Best Video, Short Form alongside the Grammy Award for Best Video Album as one of two successors to the Grammy Award for Video of the Year , which was given in 1982 and 1983, and has since changed its name several times:

  • Best Video, Short Form (1984–1985)
  • Best Music Video, Short Form (1986–1997)
  • Best Short Form Music Video (1998-2013)
  • Best Music Video (since 2014)

The award is given to actors, directors and producers of high-quality music videos for individual songs that were newly shot or became known during the award period. In 1988 and 1989 the criteria for this category were changed and the award was given in two categories as Best Concept Music Video and Best Performance Music Video . In 1990 the original shape was restored.
