Justice (proper spelling: Jus † ice ) is a from the two DJs Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay existing French Electronica - Duo . It has the same manager as Daft Punk in Pedro Winter and is the most successful band on the Ed Banger Records label . Their logo is a Latin cross (†), which illuminates the room as a large, luminous installation at concerts of the band.
history
Justice first became known in 2003 for her remix of Simian's song Never Be Alone, which was created for a Paris radio station . As a result, the label Ed Banger Records became aware of the two, signed a contract with them and officially released the remix. They then worked as a remixer for various French bands as well as for international stars such as Britney Spears , NERD , Fatboy Slim and Daft Punk . With Waters of Nazareth , the first single was released under his own name in September 2005 . In the course of the next year remixes for Franz Ferdinand , Mystery Jets , Soulwax and Mr. Oizo were created.
After the EP D.ANCE was released on May 28, 2007 , their debut album † was released on June 11 . The video for DANCE was nominated for the Video of the Year Award at the MTV Video Music Awards 2007 for best video. In 2007 the video for DANCE won the Video Star Award at the European Music Awards in Munich .
The 7-minute video clip for the song Stress, the next single from the debut album, staged by Romain Gavras , was controversially discussed and criticized with accusations of racism and glorification of violence in French and international media . It is about a gang of thugs made up of black, Maghrebian and white youths who brutally rampage in the style of clockwork orange through a Parisian satellite town and Montmartre .
In April 2011, the first single Civilization from the following, later album was released. This track was previously used in a brand campaign by Adidas . The album Audio, Video, Disco was released in October 2011.
