Soulwax is a Belgian rock band . It was founded by the two brothers Stephen and David Dewaele . The other members are the bassist Stefaan van Leuven, the drummer Steve Slingeneyer and the guitarist Dave Martijn.
Musical career
The group Soulwax achieved their international breakthrough in 1998 with their second album Much Against Everyone's Advice . A few releases made it into the charts, including Conversation Intercom and Too Many DJs . In the same year Soulwax also appeared at the open-air concerts PinkPop and Lowlands .
After that, the two brothers concentrated on other creative fields. You took over the moderation of a program on the music channel MTV and published under the name "2 Many DJs". This project mixed elements of house , reggae , dance classics and rock.
Soulwax is published for the music of the in-game radio station "Soulwax FM" in 2013 open world video game Grand Theft Auto V responsible.
In 2020 they had the opportunity to use an EMS Synthi 100 for a longer period of time , one of the first organ-sized synthesizers from 1971, of which only 31 had been made. She published recordings with the device in the album Deewee Sessions Vol. 01 .
