The Crookers are Italian DJ - duo from Milan , consisting of Andrea Fratangelo aka DJ Bot and Francesco Barbaglia aka DJ Phra. Their musical style can be described primarily as electro house .
history
Fratangelo took the classic route through piano and guitar lessons, Barbaglia was already a DJ when she was eleven and made a name for himself on the hip-hop scene. Both were already successful solo as DJs when they met in 2003 in the record store where Fratangelo worked, and a collaboration developed. They have been operating under the name Crookers since 2005 .
In 2006 they released their first joint 12 "entitled End 2 End . In early 2007 they released their first international release," Funk Mundial # 3 ", on the Berlin label Man Recordings. Further singles and EPs as well as a mixtape followed also internationally active as a remixer and remixed songs for Armand Van Helden , the Chemical Brothers , AC / DC , U2 and Britney Spears among others.They were also in demand as DJs worldwide, from Melbourne and Tokyo to Barcelona and London to New York and Los Angeles on.
Their greatest success was a new version of Day 'n' Nite , which they recorded with the US rapper Kid Cudi . It became a worldwide hit in early 2009 and reached the top 3 in Great Britain and the USA, among others.
In October 2012, the duo announced the end of their collaboration. While DJ Bot wants to take a new direction, DJ Phra will continue to operate under the name "Crookers".
