The Mystery Jets are a British indie rock band from London .

history

Blaine Harrison and William Rees had known each other since childhood and formed the band The Misery Jets with Blaine's father Henry Harrison when they were eight . The "misery flyers" actually came from a newspaper article about the planes that constantly fly over their home town of Twickenham , which is in the approach path from Heathrow . A typo became the final band name Mystery Jets .

The trio was joined by guitarist Kai Fish at the age of twelve, who retrained to become a bassist, and a few years later the trained drummer Kapi Trivedi completed the five-piece band. In 2005 they got a record deal and were already able to celebrate successes with their first releases. Her third single You Can't Fool Me Dennis was her first chart hit in the same year and the successor Alas Agnes was her first Top 40 hit. Their debut album Making Dens was released in March 2006 and the pre-single The Boy Who Ran Away reached their highest chart position at number 23.

With the release of Twenty One two years later, they were able to build on the success of their debut album. With Young Love , in which the British singer Laura Marling was a guest singer, and Two Doors Down they had two more top 40 hits.

Senior Henry Harrison retired from touring before their third album, but stayed with the band in the studio in the background. The third album Serotonin was released in 2010. It flopped and was only in the UK charts for a week. It did not produce any single hits. The same was true for Radland's next album two years later.
