Big & Rich
Big & Rich are an American country duo consisting of Big Kenny and John Rich. In addition to their own careers, they also work as songwriters and producers for other musicians.
Band history
After leaving the band Lonestar in 1998 , John Rich teamed up with songwriter Big Kenny Alphin. They founded the live band MuzikMafia , but mainly worked as songwriters and producers. Their collaboration with Martina McBride meant that they signed a record deal with Warner Music in 2003 and released the single Wild West Show the following year as Big & Rich . Right off the bat, they not only made it into the country, but also into the official single charts . Their innovative mixture of rock country music with classic rap parts made the following debut album Horse of a Different Color a great success. It reached number 1 on the country charts and stayed in the hit list for two years. It stayed on the official Billboard 200 for almost as long and was awarded double platinum in the end. The following two albums Comin 'to Your City and Between Raising Hell and Amazing Grace could not repeat the result, but were still very successful. They achieved top positions in the country and top 10 positions in the official charts and high sales figures. Her biggest hit single was Lost in This Moment , which reached number 1 on the country charts in 2007 and made it into the top 40 of the official charts.
At the end of the 2000s, the two took a break from their band and devoted themselves to solo releases. They did not make recordings together again until 2011, and they continued their successful career with their fourth studio album, Hillbilly Jedi . Although they didn't quite reach the rankings of the previous decade, with this and the two following albums Gravity (2014) and Did It for the Party (2017) they were still in the top 10 of the country and the top 50 of the official ones Represented album charts.
