Melina Matsoukas

Melina Matsoukas ( Greek Μελίνα Ματσούκα * 14. January 1981 ) is a Greek - American music video - director , since 2006, the production company Black Dog Films under contract.

Life

Matsoukas has Greek and Cuban roots. She is a graduate of the American Film Institute and New York University . Her thesis was there on her produced music videos .

After starting at the now discontinued Gorilla Flix film production company, Matsoukas is one of the most important Black Dog Films / RSA in 2006 that she represents on that date.

Her work is described as "chalk full of bright colors, crisp black and white pictures, smooth spotlights and tasteful retro video models". Matsoukas says that expensive equipment is not necessary to shoot high quality video. Always think like this, "A good video has the right to have a good, conceptualized story, and it should have an exciting and enticing reaction." In an interview for Venus Zine , she talked about how it is a part of the music video world be: “I love it. The quick turnaround, the creativity. ”Regarding the concept of the I Decided video by Solange Knowles , Matsoukas said,“ This is their concept, so I definitely just developed it and put my brand on it. ”
