The-Dream (* 20th September 1977 in Rockingham , North Carolina , civil Terius Young Nash Dell ) is an American hip-hop - and R & B - singer and songwriter .

biography

Terius Nash was discovered not as a musician, but as a songwriter. He wrote the album title Everything for B2K and was then signed in 2003. His first big hit was the song Me Against the Music by Britney Spears and Madonna , which became a worldwide hit and number 1 in the USA. The single was created, like many others, from Nash's pen, in collaboration with songwriter and producer Christopher "Tricky" Stewart .

He created his biggest hit in 2007 with Umbrella by Rihanna , which helped the singer achieve her worldwide breakthrough. It earned him a Grammy nomination ( Writer / Song of the Year ). The success also had a positive effect on his own musical career, namely he got a contract as a musician and released his first single Shawty Is da Shit , or in the defused version Shawty Is a 10 , under the stage name The-Dream in the same year . It reached number 17 on the US charts. And in December he released his debut album. With the album as well as with his first three singles, he made it into the top 10 of the respective R&B charts and the top 40 of the official charts.

In addition, he was now also a sought-after songwriter. Nash's buyers include Janet Jackson, Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige and Mariah Carey, with whom he wrote Touch My Body in 2007 , another number one hit. Even J. Holidays R & B hit Bed comes from him.

From 2004 to 2007 he was married to the singer Nivea . They have a daughter together. Since September 4, 2009 he was married to the singer Christina Milian , but the two separated again in late 2009. Their daughter, Violet Madison Nash, was born on February 26, 2010.
