J. Holiday (born September 6, 1982 in Washington, DC ; real name Nahum Grymes ) is an American R&B singer.

Live and act

When Grymes was eleven, his father died and his mother - a pastor - took over his upbringing. At a school talent show, at the age of 14, he made the decision to become a singer. He later dropped out of school early and joined a band called 295 . Despite promising beginnings, it broke up in 2003 and he began a solo career. Discovered by Anthony Tate, he got a recording deal with Capitol Records and produced his debut album Back of My Lac 'in 2007 .

J. Holiday was able to celebrate a huge success with the preliminary single Bed . The single not only became an R&B number 1, but also reached number 5 on the US Hot 100. The song even made it to the UK charts. The album then made it to number 5 on the sales charts and was awarded gold . The second single Suffocate also made it into the official Top 20 again.
